We hope that you are all doing and feeling well during this uncertain and ever-changing time. While we navigate the best we can, we must remember that we are in this together. What does that actually mean for Gulf Breeze Will Do?
At our recent virtual board meeting, we tried to envision the upcoming needs of our community and how we can position ourselves to assist through our grants program. As you know, our grants are awarded each November and are funded by membership dues and sponsor donations. Because the virus hit at the beginning of our membership drive, our numbers are the lowest they’ve been at a time when our community needs us the most. But, the light continues to shine during this difficult time. We recently received nearly $3000.00 in unexpected donations from Gulf Isle Neighbors, Allstate, and St. Ann’s Catholic Church that will be 100% earmarked for grants. In addition, any administrative funds that were budgeted for membership-drive socials have been moved into grants.
Ladies, we know that the needs of our community may look very different later this year than they have in the past, and we want to be prepared to do what we can. If you are in a position to do so, please renew or join today. And tell your friends and colleagues about us. We are stronger and more powerful together because our membership dues combine to provide grants that support the Gulf Breeze and Pensacola Beach communities, the place where we all live.
Thank you again for your investment in our community. This is why we are in this together. This is how we are stronger together.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,
committed citizens can change the world;
indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has
